Recognize that You Have the Power to Create Change

Proverbs 30:29-31 29 There be three things which go well, yea, four are comely in going:…A greyhound; an he goat also; and a king, against whom there is no rising

The first time 38-year-old Victoria Bryan got into a cockpit, she freaked out. Formerly a journalist from the UK, she is training in New Zealand to be a pilot. “I was absolutely petrified. I thought: Oh my god, what have I done?” Obviously, moving to the other side of the world to retrain as a pilot is a dramatic change – and surely anyone would panic the first time they were asked to fly a plane. But more prosaic changes can be similarly terrifying. She however allowed herself to adapt to change even though it was a drastic one. Change starts first with vision and how you see yourself.

You cannot operate beyond the level that you see yourself. If you see yourself as a mere peasant, that is how you will always operate. But if you see yourself like a King, greyhound or he-goat as mentioned in Proverbs 30:31, you will dominate in your environment, rather than allow yourself to be dominated.

When God made man, he made man to rule and have dominion. Part of the first instruction given to man in Genesis 1 is to rule and have dominion over everything that is in the earth. You are authorized to rule over your domain and local.  It was never intended for your circumstances or forces in your environment to rule over you.  If that is your reality today, refuse to accept it any longer. The fact that you were given authority to rule is a reminder that you have the power to change any unwanted circumstance in your life.  It will only linger as long as you permit it.

Life Application: Exercise your power to create change by taking the approach taken by God in Genesis: a)  create a plan; b) speak what you want to see: and, c) take action using methods proven to work.

Prayer: Dear Lord, change is difficult and scary. It is so much easier operating at the comfort levels I am accustomed to. However, in order to grow and evolve, I need to adapt to changes in my life. I pray that you will help me to envision myself the way you see me and remove all limitations that I have placed on myself because of my fear to change.
