Sometimes the challenges that life puts us through makes you negotiate our position where we have to settle for less than what we deserve. So finding our inner strength, persistence, will help you to know your value and your potential. So believe in yourself and you deserve nothing but the best.

Genesis 12:1 Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

Before he died, a father said to his son;

“Here is a watch your grandfather gave me… It is almost 200 years old. Before I give it to you, go to the jewellery store in the city. Tell them that I want to sell it, and see how much they offer you.”

The son went to the jewelry store, came back to his father, and said; “They offered $100 because it is so old.”

The father said; “Well, try the pawnshop.”

The son went to the pawnshop, came back to his father, and said; “The pawnshop offered only $20 because it has a scratch”

The father asked his son to go to the museum and show them the watch.

The son quietly questioned his father’s judgment, but still, willing to act on his last wishes he went to the museum, when he came back he said to his father; “The curator offered $375,000 for this very rare piece to be included in their precious antique collection.”

The father responded;

“I wanted to show you that the right place will value you in the right way. Don’t find yourself in the wrong place and get angry because you are not valued. Never stay in a place where someone doesn’t see your value or you don’t feel appreciated.”

You will never get to your desired outcome if you settle for less than what God has purposed for you. Genesis 11:31 made it known that Abraham was living with his father Terah in a place known for its idolatry and wickedness – Ur of Chaldees, which is in Babylon. His father desired to live in Canaan, the same place that God later promised to Abraham. So Terah moved the family, including Abraham, from Ur with the intent to go to Canaan, however, for whatever reason he found himself settling in Haran. Haran means parched. It was God’s purpose that Abraham live in Canaan, the land of abundance, but here he was settling in Haran, the place of little.  And so God in recognizing that he was settling called him from that place to not only become rich but also the father of many nations. You can become more than you are, but you must refuse to settle. Decide to leave Haran today.

Life Application: Create a plan to reach your desired destination

Prayer: Dear Lord, please do not allow me to settle for anything less than you have for me whether it be a relationship, house, car, finances or even friendships. Open my eyes to all you have for me and allow me to walk in abundance in every aspect of my life. In Jesus name, amen.
