Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Imagine using your words to form exactly what you want. So, you want a house and instead of someone building it with materials, you just speak exactly what you want to see in your dream house. And as you speak, you literally watch whatever you say come to life. That would be amazing right? Well guess what? Without even realizing it, you are speaking life or death over yourself every single day. You are currently living out a life that you have spoken into being. Whether or not it is your intent, your words are shaping your future; you must be intentional with words and speak life over your dreams and promises.

Consider the fact that the children of Israel after they came out of Egypt repeatedly said that the Lord brought them in the wilderness to die there. The last time it was recorded that they echoed this sentiment was when the 10 spies brought back an evil report. In response in Numbers 14:3 they said “and wherefore hath the Lord brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword…”. God’s response in Numbers 14:28-29 is worth noting. He said to Moses “say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the Lord, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you: your carcass shall fall in this wilderness…”. “As you have spoken in my ears so will I do unto you”, was the word of the Lord. The children of Israel spoke death and received death. Take note that whether or not it is your intent, your words are shaping your future. Make it a habit to speak life regardless of what the current circumstances may suggest.

Life Application: Declare your goals as already done 2 to 3 times daily.

Dear Lord, I cancel every negative word I have ever spoken over my life and declare only positive things over my life. Uproot every negative word that is already planted and in motion in my life. In Jesus name, amen.
