Don’t Miss Your Miracle

Daily Devotional

John 2:5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

There are two things that anyone needs to receive a miracle. The first is faith: it is putting confidence in God and His words. The second is wisdom. it is God’s solution to a problem. For a miracle to unfold you must put confidence in God and His words  and then he responds by providing His wisdom or solution. While the Holy Spirit or angels may be tasked with executing His solution, the majority of the miracles wrought in the Bible required the person to unlock his/her miracle through an instruction. It is important that you understand this, as many miss their miracle because they are waiting on God to show up when He is waiting on them to heed His instruction. Naaman delayed receiving his miracle because he delayed following the instruction.

Not only should you have faith, you must also heed His instruction. The story of wine being turned into water is recorded in John 2:1-11, the importance of both faith and wisdom was on display. Mary told the servants “whatsoever he saith unto thee, do it”. What Mary was telling them to do was put their faith and confidence in His words. Look at what Jesus did in response. He gave them two instructions. The first is to fill the water pots with water; and, the second was to draw from the water pot and serve the governor. If the servants had missed any of these two instructions, they would have missed the miracle.

Don’t miss your miracle; you need not only have faith but also, in most cases, to follow His instructions. You cannot afford to be negligent, instead give attention to His instruction. Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

Life Application: Give urgent attention to following His every instruction. It is wisdom.

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to not to miss any miracles because of my lack of faith and wisdom. I pray for your guidance and your wisdom. Help me to obey all instructions given by you and walk in complete obedience. In Jesus name, amen.
