Habakkuk 2:4…the just shall live by faith

Base every decision on faith and not on fear; that is what it means to live by faith. It is easy to see why this is critical to your success. One definition of faith is that of putting your confidence in the word of God. If you choose to put your confidence in your own words or that of other men, the result will be mistakes after mistake. You cannot get to your destination, repeatedly making the same mistakes.

The story is told in Luke 5, that Jesus entered into the boat of Simon Peter and he started to preach. After he preached to the multitude for a while he gave Peter an instruction to launch out into the deep. Peter’s response was, Lord , we have toiled all night and have caught nothing, but at your word we will do as you say and as they launched out in the deep they had a huge catch such that their nets broke. Prior to that their decision was based on their words and failure was the result, but when they chose to base their decision on the words of God, they had great success. Uncommon success came only after they chose to base their decisions on the word of God.

Life Application: Choose to base every decision on faith in God’s words.

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to walk by faith and trust you in all things. Father, even the disciples that walked with Jesus needed to strengthen their faith. Jesus told them if their faith was only the size of a mustard seed, they could uproot trees and crumble mountains. Increase my faith and make me a mover of mountains. Grow my belief in You alone so that I will be strong in the Lord and ready to battle against the doubts planted by the enemy. Lord, increase my faith! In Jesus name, amen.
