Decide to Make Your Steps Ordered by the Lord

Daily Devotional

Psalms 37:23 The steps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.

The greatest thing that you can experience is that of your every step being ordered by the Lord, but it’s not automatic.  To make it your reality you must fall in love with doing things his way.

There is nothing more important than living a life in which your steps are ordered by the Lord. The reality of such a scenario is that you cannot fail. Who would not want that? But before you can make it applicable to your life, it is critical that you understand what it means for your steps to be ordered by the Lord. It means that he is directing your every step. Note that an experience like this is not automatic. Not because you pray and ask the Lord to order your steps means that it happens like that. There is a role for you to play. Pay attention to the fact that the scripture did not stop at “ordered by the Lord”. It went further to say “he delights in his ways”. Delighting in His Ways is the role that you must play to experience the Lord ordering you steps.

Delighting in God’s ways is the seed you must sow to allow God to order your step.  God wants to direct your steps, but how can he do it if your inclination is to do things your way? You have to make the choice to do things His way and the only way to consistently do that you have to get to the place where you fall in love with His ways.

Make it the motto of your life to do things no other way but God’s way, that will be evident by you following His instructions and living by His principles.  You would have then positioned yourself for him to order your every step.

Life Application: Allow God to order your steps by choosing to live by His principles and follow His instructions.

Prayer: Dear Lord, order my steps and cause me to delight in you. In Jesus name, amen.
