Job 22:28

Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.

Do you take God at his word? The Bible tells us to declare a thing and it shall come to pass. This speaks about the power of the tongue and highlights the bigger point that just as God declared and there was, we too have the power and authority to speak and watch the words we speak come to life.

Recently I had an experience where I stated specifically what I wanted and I put a time stamp on it. I told my nine year son what I had in mind and asked him to agree with me in prayer. Two days later what I wrote and declared, happened exactly as I declared. When I told my son he was shocked, but he saw God at work. I showed my husband what I wrote and when I wrote it and we were just rejoicing in God.

One of the things the Lord said to me in that moment is, “What if all Christians took me at my word?” This is such a potent question. Imagine a world where Christians actually take God at his word. The apostles healed the sick because they took Jesus at his word. Abraham walked by Faith because he took God at his word. Speak what you want to see and watch it establish. You can speak life or death over your life. Whenever we speak we are sowing seeds and rest assured they will bear fruit.

Life Application: Write all the things you are believing God for and start declaring that you have them.

Prayer: Lord, help me to take you at word. Help me to live with the confidence that all that I need you have already provided. I declare life where there’s death. I declare healing where there is sickness. I declare strength where there is weakness. And I declare wholeness where there’s brokenness. In Jesus name, amen.
