Job 42:11 Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the Lord had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one an earring of gold.
Unlike the majority who mostly see the negatives in others, become skilled at recognizing the greatness in those around and then honouring that greatness by sowing KIND words, time and resources into their lives.
After the captivity of Job was turned the scripture noted that his brothers, sisters, friends and acquaintances came to visit him. During the time that they spent with him they not only bemoaned the difficult patch that he went through, but they also comforted his heart and each person gave him money and gold. There are 3 principles that I want you to draw from this scripture. The first principle is that your promotion will always flow through people. God was getting ready to double the possession that Job had prior to all being lost, but he did not magically let all these things appear; the double-portion blessing flowed through people. The second principle that I do not want you to miss is that Job was reaping what he sowed. Job was a giver and all who knew him, knew him as such because he would have sown too in their lives so they willingly gave back to him. It is not the same time that you sow you will reap, but if you sow you will reap.
The third principle is to never miss an opportunity to sow into greatness. Job’s brethren and acquaintances were reminded of the greatness of Job when his captivity turned, and so they all unilaterally decided that the next time they were in his presence they would not let the opportunity slip to sow into his life. They not only sowed into greatness with their words but also with their substance.
The next time that you are in the presence of someone great, make it a point of duty to sow into his/herlife. Why is that so important? Farmers will tell you that the quality of the harvest you receive depends on the quality of the soil that you sow into. When you sow into greatness, you are positioning yourself to reap greatness. Look for opportunities to sow into greatness today.
Life Application: Train your eyes to see the greatness of those that are around you and sow into that greatness with your words and resources.
Prayer: Lord, help me to sow into the lives of those around. Help me to speak positively in the lives of people, especially those going through a difficult time. In addition, in whatever way I can give of my resources help me to do so. In Jesus name, amen.
