Learn the Path to Life

Daily Devotional

Psalms 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

The path to a successful life is in His presence; the wisdom and strength that you need flows from that place.

After David prophesied about the resurrection of Jesus in Psalms 18:10 by saying “neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption”, he continued in verse 11 by saying thou wilt shew me the path of life. David was making reference to the key role that the Holy Spirit would play in our lives – showing us how to live successfully on the earth. He identified that path with living in His presence.

Why did David equate the path to life to living in His presence?  Jesus answered that question in John 14:6 when he said I am the way, the truth and life. Living in His presence is the path or the way to create success in your endeavors. The first benefit of staying on the path is that you will ultimately get a revelation of the truth or the wisdom that you need for your next level. When you apply that wisdom then life will start to flow in your dead circumstances.

Another benefit of living in His presence was what the scripture calls “fullness of Joy”. The essence of that is that there Is nothing else that will deliver a greater level of satisfaction and Joy than that of living in His presence.  Considering that truth, there is no better place that you can be.

Do not waste your life pursuing other paths that lead to failure. The foundation to create success in your life is to live in His presence such that wisdom and life can flow.

Life Application:  Relocate to live daily in His presence.

Prayer: Lord, help me to live daily in your presence. Help me to desire your presence more than anything that seeks to take my attention away from you. In Jesus name, amen.
