Ruth 2:22 And Naomi said unto Ruth her daughter in law, It is good, my daughter, that thou go out with his maidens, that they meet thee not in any other field.

Not only do people matter, place matters as well. Your breakthrough will come when you are in the right place.

Don’t move from place to place, your promotion is not only tied to a person, it is also tied to a place. Joseph was ordained to be promoted by Pharaoh and the only way for that to happen he had to be relocated by force to Egypt. Isn’t It also interesting that when it drew close to the time of his promotion, that the location in the prison where he was placed was where the prisoners of the King were kept. Even though the location did not allow him direct access to the Pharaoh, it gave him proximity to  people who were close to him.

Ruth’s circumstance was somewhat similar to Joseph. She was a poor Moabite woman who had fallen on hard times in Ruth 1 because her husband had died. Unknowingly her breakthrough would flow through Boaz, but to get to Boaz she had to stay close to Naomi, who was a relative of Boaz. At the time, it seemed like Naomi had nothing to offer her, but deep down Ruth knew that her blessing would not come in Moab,so  she had to go with Naomi  to Israel. When she reached Israel she went out to look for work and coincidentally found herself gleaning wheat in the field of Boaz.  That is what happens when you are in the right place, you open up yourself to divine favour. Naomi was a woman of wisdom, so the advice that she gave to Ruth after she reported all that happened was to stay in the field of Boaz. The essence of the advice Naomi gave was to stay in proximity to Boaz. Naomi knew that this was the right place for Ruth purely based on the flow of favour.

Pay attention to the flow of favour in whatever you are doing. it is an important indicator as to whether or not you are in the right place. Once you find it, stay in proximity to the kings or leaders in that environment.

Life Application: Identify your right place and stay in proximity to the king in your environment, whether it is directly or indirectly.

Prayer: Lord, I pray that I will stay where I’m planted and to stay in proximity to those who are destiny helpers. In Jesus name, amen.
