Become What You Are Destined to Be

Daily Devotional

Acts 17:28 In him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

Everything that you hope to be is in God. Unlock your destiny by living in Him.

Acts 17:28 identifies 3 benefits of a decision to live in God. Living in God involves both abiding in Him and allowing yourself to be directed by his spirit. The first thing that the scripture says is that “in Him we live”. Death disappears and life flows to our circumstances as a direct function of living in Him.   It is with that in mind that St. John 15:5 says apart from Him we can do nothing.

The second benefit that comes with living in Him is movement. The scripture says “in him we live and move”. It is impossible to be in God and stay stuck at the same place. The movement very well may start with spiritual growth but will result in transformation in other areas of your life, if you heed His instructions.

Lastly, the scripture says in Him…”we have our being ”, revealing the third benefit: everything that he has promised and purposed for your life will be made manifest in Him. Esther lived in God and although being a captive in the province of Shushan, Daniel lived in God and he was made second in command after King Darius.  Joshua lived in God and led the children of Israel to the promised land. History has proven that it pays to live in God.

You will not become what you are destined to be overnight. It will come in 3 phases. In the first phase life will flow over your circumstances that will then morph into increase, growth and development. By staying the course ultimately you will become what you were destined to be. Make it your priority to live in Him.

Life Application: Live every day being in God by setting appointments to meet with God and stay in worship.

Prayer: Lord keep me grounded in you. Lord continue to abide in me and propel me to the fullness that you have destined me for. In Jesus name, amen.
