Psalms 126:1 When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them in that dream. 2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them.
It can be hard to pick yourself up after a disappointment or defeat, but never be afraid to dream again. Your disappointments do not put a limit on God’s ability.
Your past failures can act as a discouragement to you from continuing to dream. But it is better to dream than to not see the result you expected because you refused to dream. If you don’t dream you will most assuredly remain stuck at the same place, while if you dream and do not realize the dream, at a minimum what will happen is that you will be armoured with new knowledge and personal development that makes the quest to realize the dream the next time around even more likely.
The children of Israel when they were in captivity in Babylon dared to dream that God would turn their captivity according to Psalms 126:1. For 70 years it seemed like just a dream that was unlikely to happen. Nevertheless, it did as it must because it was something that God had promised. When it happened, the past disappointments were no longer remembered, Psalms 126:2 said “then was our mouth filled with laughter. They were joyful, 70 years of captivity and disappointments ended with joy and throughout the 70 years they kept dreaming, expecting that the day of freedom would one day come. Their enemies who looked on, who knew their struggles and would have ridiculed them, when they saw what God had done in bringing the dream to fruition, all that they could say at that point was God had done great things for them. The same mouths that decried their state of captivity, are the same mouths that acknowledged and recognized their victory.
Do not be afraid to dream again. Look beyond the past disappointments and dare yourself to dream. Past disappointments do not mean future defeats.
Life Application: Reestablish your dream and wait for a divine strategy to make it a reality.
Prayer: Lord, amidst the disappointments of the past, I dare to dream again. I look to you to bring into fruition every dream that is aligned with your purpose for my life. I dare to dream even when it seems impossible. In Jesus name, amen.
