Get to Know God at Deeper Level

Proverbs 2:4-5 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; 5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.

Your knowledge of God determines the level of your worship. Get to Know God at a deeper level.

 Paul the apostle wanted to know God at a deeper level so he said; in Philippians 3:8“ I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord. Although the scripture did not reveal how Paul got to know God more, what we can see however was that he sacrificed all that was previously important to him In his quest to know God at a deeper level..

Like Paul, you may have the same earnest desire to know God more; Proverbs 2:4-5 outlines 3 steps to accomplish the same. The first step put forward by the phrase “seek her” is an instruction to seek the wisdom or word of God with the same earnest effort as you would silver or fine gold. What the scripture is saying is that the first step to getting to know God at a deeper level is becoming more knowledgeable about his word. The more you know His word, the more you know God.

The second step in getting to know more of God is to “understand the fear of God”. Understanding the fear of God is learning the importance of obedience. Disobedience disqualifies you from a close relationship with the Father and hinders you from getting to the level where you know His heart. The third step is “to find the knowledge of God”. You find the knowledge of God through real experiences and encounters with God by doing what his word says. Moses experiences with God In Egypt and thereafter came out of him doing everything that God told Him to do after the burning bush experience. Prior to that all he had was head knowledge of God but no real encounters.

Getting to know God more really boils down to getting deeper into His word and then doing what His word says to position yourself to have real encounters with Him.

Life Application: Get to know God more through and deeper knowledge of His word and greater level of obedience.

Prayer: Lord, my desire is to know you more. I want to know your heart and your thoughts. I position myself to sacrifice all just to be with you. In Jesus name, amen.
