Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

Don’t spend the rest of your life becoming what the word of God already says you are. Make the decision to start being just that; it is about time.

If God’s purpose for your life is to be a prophet, minister, worship leader, etc. stop saying that you are becoming any of these and start being them. Similarly, if His promises for your life are for you to have abundance, be a business owner or be healed, you cannot get to the place where you make these your reality if you remain stuck at becoming. When the angel spoke to Gideon in Judges 6, he referred to him as a mighty man of valour. In reality Gideon was not acting like it at the time; but on hearing what the word of God said about him, he got up out of the winepress and immediately started being just what the word of God said he was. That should be a mirror of the approach that you take.

In Jeremiah 1:5 God told Jeremiah that before he was formed in the belly he ordained him to be a prophet to the nations.  What if after Jeremiah heard this word from the Lord he walked around thereafter saying that he was becoming a prophet and not being, and kept doing that for years. What would you think of him? You may have questioned whether or not he is really serious about being a prophet. You may not have seen it that way, but that is a mirror of what some of us have been doing. There are two possible reasons for such a behaviour: either we are looking at our limitations and allowing that to keep us back or we are unwilling to make the sacrifices needed to move from becoming to being. In either case the required response is to decide today to be what God says you are and then follow that up by speaking and acting like it.

If you have been stuck at becoming, it is time to say enough is enough and start being what the word of God says concerning you.

Life Application: Start being what God says you are by acting out and speaking what his word says.

Prayer: Lord, you have a purpose for me from the beginning of time. May I walk in that purpose and fulfil that which you have called me to. In Jesus name, amen.
