Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

I am convinced, and you should too, that the only way that works is God’s way. So do not waste your time doing it how the world does.

If you follow the world’s way of doing things it will leave you tired and stressed out. It is why Jesus said in Matthew 11:28 come unto me all ye that are labored and heavy laden and I will give you rest. It was not only a call to those who are not yet saved, it was for anyone who operates contrary to his principles and laws in any area of life. To any such person he is saying come unto me to mean come and do it my way.

The call to stop doing it according to the world system is for everyone, but will most likely be responded  to by those who are labored (tired) and heavy ladened (feel burdened). The worldly approach will result in failure after failure until ultimately you get to the point where you are just tired and burdened down and in desperate need of a change. Jesus provides the avenue for that change: it comes with surrendering to his laws and principles. When you get to that is when the rest that he promises will come. At that point, what seemingly is a perpetual struggle is over because you would be leaning on His strength. You will not have to be fighting so hard because you are leaning on His strength.

A major stress reliever that you very rarely hear about is choosing to do things according to God’s laws and principles. Now that you are aware of it, minimize your stress doing just that.

Life Application: Refuse to do it the way the world does it by constantly applying the laws and principles of God to your circumstances.

Prayer: Lord, I thank you for this day. I pray for your strength to stand for you in righteousness in a world that sees holiness as ridiculous. In Jesus name, amen.
