Luke 1: 13 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.

Merry Christmas. As you celebrate the birth of Jesus it serves as a reminder to never give up on your dream.  Since He came to give life, He can give life to your dream that may now seem dead.

Keep believing in the dream. Zacharias and Elizabeth, his wife, who were the parents of John the Baptist, had a dream of giving birth to a child. When the angel Gabriel spoke to Zacharias he told him that his prayer was heard and Elizabeth shall bear him a son. That was the dream and it was something that Zacharias prayed for. However, it seemed like it would never have happened as both he and his wife got old and still did not see any sign of it happening. Apparently, Zacharias got to the place where he had given up on the dream, because when the angel finished speaking he proceeded to highlight his circumstance that he was old and his wife was  stricken in age. He found it easier to believe his current circumstance than what the word of God said. It is possible for you to get to that place, but keep believing in the dream.

See God as bigger than your circumstances. What can be observed from the scripture is that Zacharias had stopped praying and believing for the dream, because he no longer saw it happening. The mistake he made was not to see God as bigger than His circumstances and because that was the case, he could not look past where he was.  If all you can see is your circumstance, you will doubt what God has in store. Never doubt what God can do. We have seen Him throughout the scriptures and in the lives of everyday people doing the impossible; he can do the same for you, so refuse to give up on your dream.

Life Application: Don’t stop  praying and taking action towards the dream.

Prayer: Lord, I will still dream and hang on to every word and promise you have made towards me. In Jesus name, amen.
