Numbers 11:17 And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.

The only time your natural ability is your limit is when you are operating outside of the anointing that God has placed on you. Outside of that, in the area that you have divinely appointed, you have been empowered to do extraordinary things.

When the Lord appoints you, he also anoints you; there is several such evidence in the Bible. David was not only appointed to be the next King he was anointed with oil by Samuel. Aaron’s appointment as priest of Israel resulted in him being anointed with oil in Leviticus 8:12. These instances in the scripture of anointing with oil may cause us to think falsely that God’s anointing is only a symbol, but by reading Numbers 11:17 that perspective should change. The scripture is evidence that the anointing that God puts on us when He appoints us is that of His physical Spirit. Hence he was able to take the spirit which was upon Moses and placed it upon the 70 elders who would share in the burden of leading Israel. It should excite you that the anointing of the Lord is a physical anointing because receiving it indicates that you have been divinely empowered to function in the capacity in which you were divinely called. Look at what happened when the 70 elders received the spirit of Moses. The scripture said in Numbers 11:25 when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease. The anointing empowered them to function in the ministry to which they were called.

The experience of Moses and the 70 elders was a foreshadow of what would happen under the new covenant. Therefore, whatever ministry you have been divinely appointed to, you are also divinely empowered to carry out. That means that you should not limit yourself to your natural ability in that area. The 70 elders who were anointed could not stop prophesying even though they did not have that natural inclination. The anointing took them beyond the natural to the supernatural. The anointing that God placed on you is real, so you can do more than the natural.

Life Application: In the area that God has called you to, remove the limits.

Prayer: Lord, show me who I am and remove all limitations I have placed on myself. In Jesus name, amen.
