10 Things That You Must Do Differently in 2022 – Part 7

Daily Devotional

Part 6 highlighted the need to prepare adequately for the future you want to see. Build your preparation by continuously evolving in the following 3 areas: increasing your capacity; expanding your network; and, growing your wisdom.

# 7: Make Doing What God Says Your Only Choice

Psalms 112:2-3 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth forever.

For 2022 do more than just say that you believe God, show real proof of that by doing what He says whether or not you think it makes sense. That is how the great men of the Bible did it. It did not make sense for Noah to build an Ark when he was instructed by God to do so because prior to that no rain fell on the earth. However, he did it nonetheless to prove that his belief was in what God says and not what nature told him. God’s instruction to Abraham to leave Haran and to go to a land he would show him seemed unwise at the time, as he had to leave all of his support system behind. Nevertheless, Abraham went ahead with it proving that he believed God. At the overflowing Jordan in Joshua 3, it seemed foolish for the priests to put their feet in the Jordan river that was overflowing its banks as they ran the risk of being swept away. By doing what God says they saw instant results – the water receded and stopped flowing downstream. Not doing what God says is making a major mistake.

Psalms 112 outlines 3 things that God would do for them who feareth Him or consistently do what His word says. The first is that his seed would be great upon the earth: greatness would flow from one generation to the next. The second blessing for those who do what God says that was mentioned in the scripture is that wealth and riches would be in his house. Your abundance is tied to your obedience. The third blessing to the man who does what God says is that “his righteousness  will endure forever” – everlasting life awaits that person.

Doing what God says is a choice. The choice will not always be easy as you may have to grapple with the emotional strain of having to explain yourself to others. Nonetheless, make doing what God says your only choice. If you do, based on His promises, it will go well with thee.

Life Application: Regardless of the pressure that you may face, make doing what God says your only choice.

Prayer: Lord, shut my ears to dissenting voices that go against your word. In Jesus name, amen.
