In Part 9, we learnt the importance of planning ahead; this approach can be used to get more done in 2022 By establishing a goal; devising an effective strategy, and executing as planned.

# 10: Track and Monitor Your Progress

Proverbs 27:23 Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds.

Your success in 2022 will be tied to how well you monitor and track your progress. By doing so you are able to quickly decipher the impact your action is having. It is possible to get so busy trying to get to where you want that you fail to closely monitor if your action is creating results. That robs you of getting insights into what is working and what isn’t. With that, you are prone to make the same mistakes repeatedly. You cannot get to your destination doing what isn’t working day after day. Tracking and monitoring your progress positions you to do what works.

King Solomon taught the importance of monitoring your progress in Proverbs 27:23 and it has applicability to not only your ministry or business, but also to every area of your life. The scripture starts by saying “be diligent to know the state of thy flocks”. Knowing the state of your flock is being aware of how close or far away you are from where you are going. Diligence is advised in doing this to emphasize the point that this is not something that should be taken lightly. Unless your GPS or navigation instrument can identify where you are, it cannot accurately point you to your destination. The second part of the verse says “look well to your herds” suggesting that you should assess the results that you have been having. Assessment of your results allow you to maximize your success by doing more of what has been working and making changes to what is not working.

Life Application: For better results establish measurable indicators that you can use to track your goal. Track your input and output daily and make changes by doing more of what is bearing you fruit.

Prayer: Lord, direct my attention to what is working and not working in my life. Strengthen me in areas where I am doing well and help me to make the necessary changes where I am not. In Jesus name, amen.
