Position Yourself in the Presence of Jesus

Daily Devotional

Bible Verse

Exodus 25;22 And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.

An important element of effective praying is to position yourself in the presence of Jesus. It is at that place that you are guaranteed to get answers to your prayers.

In Exodus 25:22 God was speaking to Moses about the Ark of the Covenant, which represents the presence of God; He stated three (3) things that would happen in the presence of God. The first thing that God said was “There I will meet with you”. What that means is that when you are positioned in the presence of Jesus, you will get a revelation of Him. You will see Him in ways you have never seen him before. That was Daniel’s experience on the 21st day according to Daniel 10:5-6, he got a revelation of God that he had never seen before.

The second thing that God told Moses would happen in his presence was, “there I will commune with you”. In the presence of Jesus we will hear the voice of God and get answers to our prayers.

The final thing that God told Moses that would accompany time in His presence was that He would give commandments or instructions for the people of God. In His presence God will give directives that if incorporated into our lives will bring tangible change. A good example of this at work was when the fiery serpent bit the Israelites in Numbers 21. The solution that God gave to Moses in prayer was for him to make a brazen serpent and put it on a pole so that those who have been bitten could look at it and live. Without Moses positioning himself in God’s presence in prayer, the Children of Israel would not have known what to do.

Maximum effectiveness in prayer necessitates you being positioned in the presence of Jesus. There is much that you could miss out on not being there, that includes revelations of God and His word, answers to your prayer and instructions to create life changing moments. Be Consistent in positioning yourself in the presence of Jesus while you pray and make it a lifestyle.

Life Application

Position yourself in the presence of Jesus during prayer by starting your time of prayer with quality worship and do not leave your place of prayer until his presence comes.

Lord, I come to you in worship and adoration. May my worship bring you glory and May I honor you always. In Jesus name, amen.
