Live Victoriously Everyday

Daily Devotional

Matthew 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Even if you do not have a good education or a fat bank account, as a disciple of Jesus, you have everything that you need to be victorious on the earth. The 12 whom Jesus chose were not known for their wealth or education, but yet they were able to live victoriously. What was their secret? They used the keys of the Kingdom to good effect. Jesus had said to His disciples in Matthew 16:19, I will give unto the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. As a disciple of Christ, you too have those keys. The keys represent the gift of the Holy Spirit and the principles of God. With these two great powers we have everything that we need to take on giants, lions and bears, like David, and still come out victorious. You might have said, I would like to be like Peter or I would like to be Paul, these were stalwarts of the early church. But, It is important to note that it was these two keys that they used to be so effective in their lifetime. Since you already have these two keys, you have everything you need to fulfill your purpose, promise and replicate their success on the earth.

The purpose of employing the two keys is to keep us in the will of God. When we are positioned in the will of God then what the scripture says applies “whatsoever we bind on earth is bound in heaven and whatsoever we loose on earth is loosed in heaven”. What the scripture is saying is that when we use the keys to stay in God’s will then we can bind and loose things in our lives with the assurance that whatever we bind or loose is already done. That is the authority that we possess when we use the keys of the Kingdom. We do not have to wonder if what we say will be done; we know without doubt that it is already done. We know that it is already done because the scripture used the phrases “bound in heaven” and “loosed in heaven”, both of which are in the past tense, to show that actions in the present tense (bind or loose) are accompanied by a commensurate action already done in the past. Because you are in the will of God, before you even speak it, it has already been done.

It should be clear that you have what is needed to create victory, the issue is that we do not effectively use what we have and that leads to defeat.

Life Application: Utilize the keys of the Kingdom to live victoriously every day by walking in the Spirit and apply divine principles to every area of your life.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for the keys to a successful life on this earth. Thank you that whatever we bind on earth is already bound in heaven. And whatever we loose on earth, is already loose in heaven. In Jesus’ name, amen.
