Romans 8: 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Bad situations will not stop good things from happening in your life. How do we know that? Romans 8:28 says “all things work together for good”. The “all things” mentioned there include whatever bad situations you may have to contend with. Additionally, the Bible is filled with stories of bad situations turned good. One of the great examples of that was the life of Joseph. He rebounded from being made a slave and a prisoner to rise to the second highest office in the land of Egypt. That should remove any doubt that your bad situations can turn good.
There were two key characteristics that Romans 8:28 highlighted that should be evident in our lives to give assurance that good things will flow from our bad situation. The first is that we must “love God”. Based on Romans 8:28; the promise was made “to them that love God”. The evidence that we love God is that we keep his commandments. When we love God by keeping His commandments he will bring to past the good plans that He has for our lives. The second characteristic that will allow God to move in our bad situations is that we are “called according to His purpose.” God’s purpose stands despite our bad situation. It was because of this truth, Moses was still used by God to lead the Children of Israel out of Egypt although his past was tainted. Your bad situation does not disqualify you from what God has purposed. if it did Rahab, the harlot and her family, would not have been saved( the only family saved out of Jericho). It was God’s purpose that she would be in the lineage of Jesus.
Your current bad situation can be discouraging but God has a history of creating good outcomes where things have gone bad. Trust Him to do the same for you.
Life Application: Trust God to turn your bad situation around by adhering to His laws and principles while maintaining the focus on fulfilling His purpose for your life.
Prayer: Lord, thank you that there is no finality in my bad situations and that you are the God who can create good from the bad things that are happening. In Jesus’ name, amen.
