Esther 8:8 Write ye also for the Jews, as it liketh you, in the king’s name, and seal it with the king’s ring: for the writing which is written in the king’s name, and sealed with the king’s ring, may no man reverse.
Curses can be broken; it was made possible by Jesus when he went to the cross. Therefore, we do not need to live the rest of our life under any personal or generational curse. Identify and reverse any curse that may be over your life .A representation of what is required to break curses was depicted in Esther 8. Through the influence of Haman, King Ahasuerus had signed a decree that all Jews, young and old living in the kingdom of Shushan, should be killed and their possesions taken as a prey on the 13th day of the twelfth month. The decree was tantamount to a curse of death. Only the King could break this curse because it was sealed with the Kings signet ring: no man could reverse it. Additionally, in order to reverse it a new law would need to be written reversing what was previously written and signed with the King’s ring. With an understanding of what was needed, Esther pleaded the cause of the Jews until this was what happened.
Drawing from this story of Esther and the Jews there were three (3) things that were necessary to reverse the curse. The first is to find favor with the King. The main reason Esther was able to get King Ahasuerus to break the curse of death was because she found favor in his eyes. Esther 8:4 said “king held out the golden sceptre toward Esther”, that was the result of favor. Through the continuous obedience we too obtain favor with the King of Kings.
The second thing that Esther did to have the curse broken was that she diligently interceded to the king. Esther 8:3 tells us that Esther “fell down at his feet, and besought him with tears to put away the mischief of Haman the Agagite’. What she was doing was interceding on behalf of the Jews. To break curses over our lives there is a need for serious intercession.
The third thing that was needed for the curse to be broken was for the King to write a new law to reverse what was previously written and seal it with his ring. When Jesus went to the cross, a new covenant came into effect which made it possible for any curse over our lives to be broken.
Life Application: Reverse any curse over your life through fervent intercession and maintaining favor with God.
Prayer: Lord, reverse all curses over my life and make them null and void. In Jesus’ name, amen.
