Revelation 4:21 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are, and were created.
We were all created to do the will of God; not to do as we please. Revelation 4:21 is evidence of this truth, it suggests that everything that is created was created to bring God pleasure. How do we bring God pleasure? By doing the will of God or what his word says. Therefore, what the scripture is saying is that we were created to do the will of God, since that is what brings him pleasure.
There are three ways in which we can do the will of God and bring Him pleasure: practice His principles; fulfil our life purpose; and, manifest what God has promised concerning our lives. With this understanding of what we were created to do and what it will take to do it, it is time to make a strong commitment to do the will of God.
The three (3) Hebrew boys – Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego made a firm commitment to do the will of God and bring Him pleasure. Even though they faced the possibility of being thrown in the fire they refused to bow down to the golden image set up by Nebuchadnezzar. It is interesting to note that they took this position without having any guarantee that God would deliver. What motivated these young men to take that radical stance? Bringing God pleasure was more important to them than their own pleasure. It was the same mindset that Joseph had why He never entertained Potiphar’s wife. Joseph and the three (3) Hebrews were committed to bring God pleasure. Follow their example by living intentionally to bring God pleasure by doing His will.
Life Application: Make a lifetime commitment to bring God pleasure by diligently practicing biblical principles, aligning yourself to your life purpose and walking out everything God promised concerning your life.
Prayer: Lord, I seek to please you in all that I do and say. May my ways and thoughts please you always. In Jesus’ name, amen.
