Move Mountains With Your Words

Daily Devotional

Matthew 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

What are the mountains or challenging situations that you are currently contending with?  Regardless of what they are, know that you can move your mountain with your words. Matthew 17:20 says “ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove”. What the scripture is telling us is that we can create supernatural impact with our words. The precondition for that to happen is having faith in God. Note the scripture said “if ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed”. It is not talking about faith in ourselves, it is talking about putting our faith in God. When we put our faith in the supernatural God, we automatically tap into His great power and when we speak His will extraordinary things will manifest in our environment.

Faith in God allowed Joshua to do extraordinary things with his words. In the midst of the battle, he realized that there was not enough time left in the day to complete the assignment that he had started. Rather than complain, Joshua instead put his faith in God and commanded the sun to stand still. Because he believed in God, his utterances caught God’s attention and God responded by doing exactly what he spoke and  the sun stood still for an entire day. By faith Joshua used his words to create an extraordinary outcome. Jesus did likewise when he cursed the fig tree and it dried up.

These examples are designed to show you that no matter how impossible it may seem to remove your mountain or challenging situation, if you put your faith in God and daily speak to that situation, the supernatural will manifest in your life.

Life Application: Move your mountain by putting your faith in God and daily speaking the reality that you want to see as if it is already done. God may give you an instruction concerning the matter, be quick to perform it.

Prayer: Lord, you have given us the authority to speak things and watch them come to life. Let us activate our faith and speak what we want to see over our lives. In Jesus’ name, amen.
