Exodus 16:4-5 Then said the Lord unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no. And it shall come to pass, that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.

Regardless of how your situation may look, God has a solution for it. One of the most difficult circumstances that arose in the Bible was how the approximately 2.4 million Israelites that came out of Egypt would be fed during their sojourn through the wilderness. It looked hard to get done as there was nowhere for them to go to get food. Nevertheless, God had a solution for it. His solution was to rain bread from heaven every day; this He did for 40 years. God is never short on solutions; all we need to do is to trust him.

Since God has a solution for every situation, choose to work with His solution, not your own. The solution that God gave Moses to give to the Children of Israel in the wilderness was that they should pick up enough manna to serve them only for that day and not leave any overnight. The exception was the sixth day when they were required to gather enough to serve them for the sixth day and the Sabbath day, since none should be picked up on the Sabbath day. Despite these instructions, there were some that ignored the solution God gave them and left some of the manna until the next morning. What happened in that case is that the manna was filled with worms and stank. However, interestingly when it was held overnight into the Sabbath day it did not stink. There were also those who went against God’s solution and went out to gather manna on the Sabbath; they came back with nothing.  What these examples teach us is that there are two things that may happen when we work with our own solution. The first thing that will happen is that the matter will get from bad to worse. The evidence of that is that the manna left overnight was filled with worms and stank. The second thing faced by those who work with their solution is failure; on the Sabbath day those who went out, picked up nothing. The only way is to work with God’s solution; make it up in your mind to do it that way.

Life Application: Rather than run with your solution, take time to identify God’s solution and work with it.

Prayer: Lord, help me to look to you for help instead of relying on my solution or plans. In Jesus’ name, amen.
