Ecclesiastes 4:9 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labour.
To get great things done you will need to involve other people. In making a similar point, the late Dr. Myles Munroe says although the lion is the king of the jungle, it never attacks an elephant by itself. The reason is that the elephant is bigger and stronger than a lion so it will always come out on top when it is confronted by a single lion. The dynamics, however, significantly changes when the attack is made by two or more lions. In that case the elephant will be their lunch. Within that context, when a lion sees an elephant, it starts by summoning the help of the other lions. It then waits until it has their assistance before it starts attacking.
What great thing have you been trying to get done by yourself? Summon the help of other people. Ecclesiastes 4:9 tells us that two are better than one because they get a good return for their labour. What the scripture is saying implicitly was that our success will be greater when we get two or more like minded people involved. The reason is that working with others allows you to leverage resources, relationships and knowledge that you do not possess yourself and shorten the time it takes to get to the desired destination. Leverage in your own life the power of two (2). Moses never went into Egypt alone; he had Aaron. Jesus never pursued ministry alone, he had the cooperation of His disciples. David rose to the prominence of king with the support of over four hundred men.
Life Application: Leverage the power of two (2) by identifying like minded people in your world with complementary skills sets and form an alliance with them focused on helping each other accomplish God’s will for their lives.
Prayer: Lord, surround me with the right people who are like minded and will help to propel me into your purpose. In Jesus’ name amen.
