Psalms 16: 11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
It is customary these days to hear about supply shortages; it is another way of saying that the available quantity of certain items is not enough to meet demand. Right now this is happening in the commodities market resulting in the price of wheat and corn rising by 78.0% and 74.0% respectively, since the beginning of 2020. While all of this is happening, it is important to be reminded that there is always ample supply of God’s joy and power.
Psalms 16:11 tells us that in his presence there is fullness of Joy and at his right hand there are pleasures for evermore. The scripture indicates two things that we can expect to receive every time we go in the presence of God. The first is fullness of joy; it is a joy that we cannot experience anywhere else, neither is it in any way tied to our prevailing circumstances.
The second thing that happens when we go into the presence of God is that we are positioned at His right hand. The right hand of God represents His power and authority; what that is telling us is that when we are in the presence of God, we draw the power and authority needed to live a life of continuous victory and enjoy the pleasures that come with it. One takeaway from this is that we cannot afford to miss the presence of God.
Another thing we can draw from the scripture is that God’s joy and power are always in adequate supply. Pay attention to the phrase “there is” in Psalms 16:11; it was placed there to indicate to us that there is always a continuous supply of those things that come with the presence of God. It does not matter how many times we go into His presence or the number of persons who tap into His presence on any given day, we can be assured that there will never be any shortage in the supply of God’s joy and power. We can keep going back every day and expect to receive fresh supply.
Life Application: Seek God’s presence daily and receive a fresh supply of joy and power to live victoriously.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for granting us unlimited access to your presence. Thank you for the joy and unspeakable peace while we are in your presence. In Jesus’ name, amen.
