Isaiah 1:17 learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
There is something that you will need to learn to transition to your next season. Joseph is only one example, he had to learn humility before he became governor of Egypt and David had to learn to lead people before he was made King of Israel. What is it that you need to learn to get to your next level? Although it will differ from person to person, it will be the attribute that is most important to your success in the next season.
Moses’ purpose was to lead the Israelites out of bondage and the only way that he could succeed doing so is by learning to do things God’s way. How else would the job get done? It was doing it God’s way that caused the 10 plagues to come upon Egypt and enabled the Israelites to successfully cross the Red Sea. The same attribute was required to navigate the wilderness where food and water was in short supply.
Doing things God’s way never came naturally to Moses; it was something that he had to learn. Bear in mind that he would have spent 40 years living in Pharaoh’s palace where he would have learnt everything else but to do things God’s way. So, it should not be surprising that at the age of 40 he attempted to pursue his purpose doing things his way. It resulted in him committing murder and becoming a fugitive living in the wilderness. It was right there in his wilderness situation that he learnt to do thing’s God’s way, which made the way for his season changing. In the same way that what Moses had to learn never came naturally to him, it will be no different for you. It is why Isaiah 1:17 tells us to “learn to do well”. Learning what you need to do will take effort and commitment but the payoff will be worth it as it will take you to where God wants you to go. Stick with it until you learn what you need to learn to transition to your next season.
Life Application: Identify the attributes that are most important to where God is taking you and commit to do whatever it takes to master these principles.
Prayer: Lord, there are lessons that you want me to learn in order to move to my next season. May I learn those lessons and make the necessary changes in order to excel. In Jesus’ name, amen.
