Let God take You to the Dream

Daily Devotional

Deuteronomy 7:1 When the Lord thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;

The dream is only possible when God takes you there. In Exodus 13:17, when the Israelites walked out of Egypt their destination was set for their Promised Land. It would have seemed like a promising exercise in the beginning but there was no way that they could have gotten there if they were the one taking themselves there. If that was the case, quite likely the furthest that they would have gotten would have been the Red Sea, thereafter, they would have found themselves back in Egypt being in bondage. However, because God was the one taking them, they got past the Red Sea and did not die of hunger and thirst during their 40 years in the wilderness. Additionally, they were also able to come out the victor when other nations engaged them in battle in the wilderness. It is a testament that whatever our dream or promise, we must allow God to lead us there as that is how we will make it.

When God is taking you to your destination expect to do great exploits. David did great exploits when he conquered Goliath because God was leading Him. Similarly, the Israelites accomplished great things in possessing their Promised Land. Moses had foretold them in Deuteronomy 7:1 that when God brought them into their Promised land, they would dispossess seven (7) nations that were greater in number and more powerful than they were. As Moses had prophesied, so it was they were able to possess the land despite being fewer in number and having less strength than those that they had to fight against. There is nothing that we cannot do when we allow God to take us to where we are going.

Life Application: Allow God to take you to your dream or your promise by continually seeking and waiting on His direction.

Prayer: Lord, you have given me dreams and there are many promises in your word concerning me. Guide me to the fulfillment of these promises and dreams as only you can. In Jesus’ name, amen.
