Leviticus 24:2 Command the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamps to burn continually.
Exodus 25:30 And thou shalt set upon the table shewbread before me alway.
We often pray asking God to take us to another level, but where we are in God is dependent on the level that we choose to operate. For instance, the admirable level that Peter and Paul operated at was because they made the choice to go there, it would not have happened otherwise. Which level are you choosing to operate at?
Using the tabernacle pattern as our guide, there are three levels that we can choose to operate in God. The first is the outer court dimension. In the tabernacle pattern that God gave to Moses in Exodus 25-27, the outer court was exposed to the natural light and contained the Brazen Altar for sacrifice and the Brazen Lava for cleansing. Those of us who choose to operate at this place will typically lack intimacy with God and fall into sin regularly. This dimension characterized the existence of the Israelites at some points after the death of Joshua and his generation. Judges 2:10-11 said, “there arose another generation after them, which knew not the Lord, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel” and they did evil in the sight of the Lord. To move to the Holy Place dimension, what was required was total surrender at the Brazen Altar, to be cleansed at the Brazen Lava and putting on the garment of righteousness before they could go through the door that leads to the “Holy Place”.
The “Holy Place” dimension consisted of the Table of Shewbread, which represents the word of God and the Candlestick of Pure Gold, which symbolizes the spirit of God. Those of us who operate at the second dimension do a fairly good job of keeping God’s commands and seeking after Him, and as a result enjoy some level of intimacy with Him. What is hindering us from operating at the third dimension, which is the Most Holy Place, is a lack of consistency.
Note however that the priests were required to keep the lamps of the Candlestick of Pure Gold continually burning. Leviticus 24:2 said, “command the children of Israel, that they bring unto the pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamps to burn continually”. Additionally, according to Exodus 25:30 it was required by God that the bread be on the Table of Shewbread all the time. What these two requirements point us to is a lifestyle that worships God in spirit and in truth and by doing so it will cause us to operate in the third dimension in God. God wants us to operate at this place, which is why Jesus told his disciples in John 15:5 to abide in Him and let His words abide in them. Choose to go to the third dimension in God.
Life Application: Go to the third dimension in God through a lifestyle that consistently abides in His presence and walks in His word.
Prayer: Father, take me to the third dimension in you where my lifestyle is one that glorifies you. In Jesus’ name, amen.
