Proverbs 30:26 The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks;
Not because you are not highly educated, don’t have a lot of money nor friends in high places means that you cannot get great things done. To highlight this truth Proverbs 30:26 used the analogy of conies that are inherently weak at building their houses in the rocks. The message the scripture conveys is that even small people can do great things.
Building a house in the rocks is no small feat, not only is it technically difficult, but it can also prove to be highly expensive. One thing that makes it particularly difficult is that you must use dynamite blast to make holes and trenches to facilitate the building of the house. In comparison, making a hole in typical clay soil is something that can be done by simply using an excavator or pickaxe or shovel. Although building on the rocks is difficult, the conies, despite their feebleness, do not shy away from it, instead they do what it takes to get it done. Don’t let grandiose assignments scare you, the only way to get great things done is to attempt them.
A major reason conies attempt building in the rocks, even though it is not easy, is the belief that it can be done. If you choose to believe that the big thing you are attempting is possible, you will get it done. David defeated Goliath because he believed that it was possible. So high was his belief that he publicly told Goliath how the encounter between both would end: he told him that God would deliver him into his hand, and he would smite him and cut off his neck. There could be no doubt that David would have the victory. What is the thing you envision, believe that it is possible. Philippians 4:13 says I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. When we believe in God we tap into his strength, which more than compensate for our weaknesses.
Life Application: Accomplish big things despite your weaknesses by putting your faith in God to receive strength to overcome.
Prayer: Lord, through your son Jesus Christ, you have empowered us to do the impossible. May we see ourselves as powerful and having the ability to accomplish all that you have purposed for us. In Jesus’ name, amen.
