Prophesy the Word of God Over Your Life

Daily Devotional

Job 22:28 Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.

One way to start creating change is to prophesy the word of God over your life.  The valley of dry bones was transformed after Ezekiel prophesied the word of God over the situation. Bear in mind that the scripture said that they were “very dry”; that meant that in the eyes of men the situation may have seemed irreparable but that never stopped the word of God from creating change. What was significant about that scripture is that as soon as Ezekiel began to prophesy things started to happen. Look at what the scripture said in Ezekiel 37:7 “as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together. The situation literally started to change as Ezekiel spoke the word of God. The takeaway from this is that if we choose to prophesy the promises of God over our situations, we will have a similar result. Job 22:28 confirms this when it says decree a thing and it shall be established unto thee.

The mistake we sometimes make is to stop declaring God over our lives because it seems like nothing is happening. Note that the scripture says, “decree a thing and it shall be established”. Do not take that to mean that everything will happen all at once; it will be a process.

When Ezekiel prophesied the word of God things happened in stages. In the first stage the bones came together, then sinews came upon them before skin came upon them and finally breath came upon them and they lived. The prophetic words of Ezekiel brought transformation and life, but in four (4) stages. Everything will not happen at the same time, but do not let that stop you from declaring what God has promised. What you can be sure about is that as you prophesy the promises of God over your life and diligently act upon it, that which you want to see will eventually happen. The latter part of Job 22:28 says “the light shall shine upon thy ways”. What the scripture is suggesting is that as we prophesy the word of God and take deliberate action God will bring it to pass. Do not be disheartened by slow progress, keep speaking the word of God and He will do it.

Life Application: Prophesy the word of God over your life by stating the promises of God concerning your life.

Prayer: Lord, I declare your healing over my body. I prophesy that I am well in my mind and body. I declare the blessings of the lord over my life in abundance. In Jesus’ name, amen.
